Rihanna & Chris Brown

DJ June Club Chart – November 19, 2012

   1.     Ain’t Nobody’s Business  – Rihanna feat./ Chris Brown

Have you heard “Ain’t Nobody’s Business,” Rihanna’s duet with Chris Brown from her new album, Unapologetic ? It is an excellent pop song. This will probably be massively popular soon replacing her current single, “Diamonds.”

2. F**kin’ Problems – A$AP Rocky feat./ Drake, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar

The beat is dope! With all them hot rappers and a heavy radio play, this can’t go wrong. Top billin!

3. Last Night  – Pitbull f/ Havana Brown

Pitbull + Afrojack (エレクトロの今をときめくDJ/プロデューサー、パリス・ヒルトンの元彼)。

Brand new track by Pitbull featuring Havanna Brown and Afrojack (Paris Hilton’s ex boyfriend.) It features a heavy electro sound for a Pitbull production.  I can’t wait to play this joint in the club.

D’Angelo Returns to TV With New Track at BET Awards

At Sunday night’s BET Awards、D’Angelo played his first television performance in 12 years. The R&B singer kicked off the performance with his hit “Untilted (How Does It Feel)” before joining his band behind the keys and jumping on to a new track, the funky “Sugar Daddy.” Stars including Common and Beyonce clapped along to D’Angelo’s spirited “Sugar Daddy” as the singer leaped, kicked and screamed.

D’Angelo is set to perform on July 6th at New Orleans’ Essence Music Festival, and he will play Jay-Z’s Made in America festival in Philadelphia over Labor Day weekend. Questlove recently revealed D’Angelo has recorded around 30 new tracks over the past few years, and he hope the singer will release the new material soon.

Frankie Beverly featuring Maze were honored with the lifetime achievement award, and they were serenaded with performances by Tyrese, Faith Evans and Joe.

Kanye & Jay Z

2012 BET Awards: Beyonce, Chris Brown, Kanye West and Jay-Z take home trophies; Whitney Houston’s mother gives emotional tribute

West, who was up for seven awards, was the top nominee. Beyonce was the second most nominated act with six. She won video director of the year (along with Alan Ferguson) and best female R&B artist and thanked the genre and her female influences.

“I fell in love with music by listening to R&B. It’s the core of who I am,” she said, giving special thanks to Lauryn Hill, Mary J. Blige and “Whitney Houston, my angel.”

When she lost video of the year to Jay-Z and West, she playfully hit her husband and laughed. The joking continued: Moments later, as West was giving his acceptance speech, Jay-Z interrupted him and said: “Excuse me Kanye, I’m gonna let you continue, but …,” and the audience erupted with laughter, recalling West’s infamous interruption of Taylor Swift’s MTV Video Music Awards speech a few years back.

Chris Brown was also a double winner. Kevin Hart — who hosted the awards last year — also won for best actor, Big Sean was named best new artist and Wale and Miguel’s smooth hit “Lotus Flower Bomb” won best collaboration.

The tone of the night fluctuated frequently, as the show shifted from hotly anticipated performances to solemn moments to irreverence. Usher performed his groove “Climax,” and Nicki Minaj sported a blonde wig with pink tips as she performed the songs “Champion” and “Beez In the Trap,” which featured 2 Chainz.

Cissy Houston’s tribute to her late daughter was the emotional highlight of the BET Awards.

Mariah Carey opened the tribute with memories of her friend. She was followed by a moving number by Monica. Brandy, heavily influenced by Houston, sang two of the late singer’s hits. Chaka Khan blazed the stage with “I’m Every Woman,” which Houston remade. Gary Houston, Whitney’s brother, also performed.

Whitney Houston‘s mother gave a rousing performance of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” that left the crowd in tears, including Beyonce and Melanie Fiona.

The live broadcast featured some of the biggest stars in the music world, including Jay-Z and Beyonce (who won best female R&B artist), Nicki Minaj (the recipient of the best female hip-hop artist award), and Usher.

The soul crooner who kept the ladies sweatin’ through the 90’s is set to make a triumphant return to music at the BET Awards 2012!

BET has announced that R&B singer D’Angelo will perform at the 2012 BET Awards, marking his first televised performance in a dozen years. After the success of his 2000 album Voodoo, D’Angelo stepped away from music, but the singer has been rejuvenated lately, performing at Bonnaroo’s Superjam and lining up performances at the Essence Music Festival in early July and the Made in America event in September. Recently, Questlove revealed D’Angelo has recorded around 30 new tracks over the past few years, expressing hope that the singer will release a new album soon.

Usher, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown and 2 Chainz are among the performers already announced for the BET Awards. The awards show will air on July 1st, with Kanye West leading the way with seven nominations.

June 10, 2012: Surprise Homecoming

Just this month, D’Angelo warmed up for his U.S. tour with first stateside performance in over a decade at the music fest, Bonnarroo. Musically directed by Questlove, an awesome collection of Quest’s friends played alongside D’Angelo including, Time guitarist Jesse Johnson and Pino Palladino, bassist for the Who.  This time, he didn’t perform any of his signature hits but he did perform some classics like Led Zeppelin’s “What Is and What Should Never Be” and the Beatles’ “She Came in Through the Bathroom Window.”

Trey Songz - Chapter V

Chapter V By Trey Songz

Chapter V - Trey Songz

Chris Brown, Bow Wow & Trey Songz

1. “Heart Attack” –

4. “Without A Woman” –

6. “Simply Amazing” –

Chapter V by Trey Songz, the Prince of Virginia

Trey Songz

Last month, during his promotional visit to NYC Trey Songz rented a room at Jungle City Studios and invited a few members of the press in to preview some select tracks from his forthcoming anticipated album Chapter V.

Upon arrival, attendees were greeting by a row of vixens in black Chaper V tees, matching tights, and pumps serving Grey Goose cocktails.

He says he’s about 30 tracks into his forthcoming fifth album, Chapter V, the follow-up to 2010’s smash hit Passion, Pain and Pleasure.

“I’m excited as hell to hear them loud,” Trey said before queuing up the six songs that he’s almost positive will make the final cut of the album, which is tentatively set to drop in August.

1. “Heart Attack” – First Single Click here to listen http://www.thisisrnb.com/2012/03/trey-songz-looks-to-share-his-heartache-on-new-single/

2.         “Two Reasons “I go to the club for two reasons, the bitches and the drinks.”Trey said.

3. “Dive In” –Trey wrote and produced with frequent collaborator Troy Taylor. Trey croons about how he loves “swimming in your body.” This one is nasty.

4. “Without A Woman” – A very special song for Trey. “A man can’t be a man without a woman,” Trey was raised by his mother alone and always gives strong women all his love.

5. “Ladies Go Wild” –. “It’s a little different for me,” he conceded of the Euro-pop track, which he put together with Troy Taylor and Teetimus Da Producer.

6. “Simply Amazing” – This mid-tempo cut is likely score big on adult contemporary stations.
