RaeSremmurd_14

1- Throw Sum Mo – Rae Sremmurd

No Flex, No Type

With previous bangers “No Flex Zone” and “No Type” ruling clubs and radios around the nation, young duo from Mississippi Rae Sremmurd dropped their third single featuring Nicki Minaj and Young Thug. Very talented 20 year-old Swae Lee and his younger brother Slim Jimmy had a lucky start.

2-Feeling Myself – Nicki Minaj feat. Beyoncé

Beyonce’s “711” is on fire among sisters and female wanna-be O-nay people. Her new song “Feeling Myself” featuring Nicki Minaj will become a new girl power anthem for sure. I could throw “Feeling Myself” after “711” that makes a smooth transition. Yeah, I love that.

3- Feel Right – Mark Ronson feat. Mystikal

Follow up to his funky joint “Uptown Fun” featuring Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson dropped another funk classics lending vocals by Mystikal of yesteryear. You will be surprised that he sounds like James Brown of our time. It surely is the bomb! Don’t sleep on it.

Jodeci to Reunite at Soul Train Awards 2014

Wendy Williams - Soul Train Awards 2014

日本語

Williams will host the Soul Train Awards, to air on BET and Centric on Nov. 30.

CB, Beyonce, and Drake -soul-train-nominees-2014Chris Brown, who is the lead nominee with seven, Beyoncé has six nominations and Pharrell Williams follows with five.

missy-elliot-lil-kim-billboard-650The Soul Train Awards has distinguished itself from other awards shows by catering to an older demographic over the past few years. The 2014 edition was a bit more old school than previous installments. Not that there was necessarily anything wrong with that, because getting the opportunity to see the likes of Jodeci, Missy Elliott, Lil’ Kim, Da Brat, Total and Mase grace the stage while also honoring the legendary Kool & The Gang was a treat for anyone who was a teenager in the ’90s.

Jodici at soul-train-awards-2014-3After years of rumors that the bad boys of 1990s R&B K-Ci, Jo Jo, DeVante Swing and Mr. Dalvin would reunite, they made it official on the 2014 Soul Train Awards stage with a performance that took those at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas back in time to a place where Jodeci ruled the airwaves.

The show opened up with the indisputable king of R&B of today, Chris Brown who launched into a medley of hits from his more humble beginnings (“Yo (Excuse Me Miss)”) to today’s more edgy smash hit “Loyal,” which took home Soul Train awards for “Best Hip Hop Song” and “Best Collaboration.” It was vintage Brown as the 25-year-old bounded across the stage with energetic moves as dancers flanked him.

The show took a trip down nostalgic highways as host Wendy Williams helped guide the tour. Performances by Nico & Vinz, a high octane “2 On” from Tinashe, Kem (who brought Ledisi along for “If It’s Love”), 3WB (Three Winans Brothers) and We Are Toonz showing the 40-somethings in the crowd how to “Nae Nae” were mere precursors for the sentimental magic that would grace the stage.

Aaliyah Haughton biopic on November 15

Lifetime is set to premiere its Aaliyah Haughton biopic Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B on November 15.

Aaliyah - Alexandra Shipp 4
Before Beyoncé and before Rihanna, self-proclaimed ‘street but sweet’ Aaliyah was poised to become a global icon with top-selling albums, a hot movie career and an adoring fan base. The film follows the beautiful and talented performer’s inspirational journey, from her debut on Star Search at the age of ten to the challenges she faced during her rise to become the Princess of R&B. On August 25, 2001, at the height of her popularity, her life was tragically cut short when a plane carrying the singer and some of her video crew crashed after takeoff from a Bahamian runway. Although just 22-years-old at the time of her death, Aaliyah continues to lead a legacy as Billboard’s tenth most famous R&B artist of the past 25 years and one of the recording industry’s most successful artists in history.

Aaliyah and her familyAaliyah’s uncle and former manager, Barry Hankerson, says the family is pissed that no one from the network contacted them about the movie. Hankerson says the family will block any attempt on Lifetime’s part to use any of Aaliyah’s music.

Movie’s original star, Zendaya Coleman dropped out because she did not feel “morally okay moving forward with the production” for a number of reasons, one being disagreements with Aaliyah’s family over music rights and more: ” The main reasons were the production value wasn’t there. There were complications with the music rights and I felt like it wasn’t being handled delicately,” she said.

Aaliyah - Alexandra Shipp 3

But Lifetime doesn’t give a damn. Even though the Haughton family’s dissatisfaction they cast Alexandra Shipp as Aaliyah and Jackie Long as R. Kelly, Lyriq Bent as Barry Hankerson, and Elise Neal as Gladys Knight and the movie is made.

Aaliyah’s romantic relationship with Kelly was a major scandal in the early part of the “One In A Million” performer’s career. The two entertainers were secretly married in 1994 when Aaliyah was only 15 and Kelly was in his late 20’s. The marriage was eventually annulled.

Dame Dash
According to TV talk show host also serves as executive producer Wendy Williams, “You will see how she meets R. Kelly, what her father and mother’s reaction was to R. Kelly, when it ends with R. Kelly, how she moves on to Dame Dash. But what you won’t see is the plane crash. I just thought that was distasteful.”

Aaliyah: Princess of R&B is set to premiere Saturday, November 15 on Lifetime.

1             Partition – Beyonce

YOUTUBE

“Drunk In Love” が今でも人気でよくお姉さんたちからリクエストされます。やはりビヨンセは女王ですね。女性からの支持率ダントツです、アルバムの売れ行きも好調とか。フォロー・アップのこの曲、Twerkリミックスも出始め、ラジオでもかかっていたりと100%盛り上がること間違いなし。

While ”Drunk In Love” is still one of the most requested songs by ladies, Queen Beyonce drops her follow up song  “Partition.” With Twerk Remix and the extensive air play this will surely blow up soon.

2          Dark Horse – Katy Perry feat. Juicy J

AC (Atlantic City)

Waitresses at Providence Club in AC love this song. All white bartenders there seem to be crazy about Katy too. This can’t be a mainstream party song but a nice Southern rap-techno mashup song moves at a tempo of 66 beats per minute.

3          Bang It To The Curb – FM Sidney Samson

Far East Movement and Sidney Samson’s ”Bank It To The Curb” is the next big Twerk song. Twerk still dominates the club scene but it could be hit or miss. In order to become a dope DJ, you have to play what people want and keep watching the crowd. This is what I do for a living!! I got keep trying!

Thank you for your love and support!
