“Drunk In Love” が今でも人気でよくお姉さんたちからリクエストされます。やはりビヨンセは女王ですね。女性からの支持率ダントツです、アルバムの売れ行きも好調とか。フォロー・アップのこの曲、Twerkリミックスも出始め、ラジオでもかかっていたりと100%盛り上がること間違いなし。

While ”Drunk In Love” is still one of the most requested songs by ladies, Queen Beyonce drops her follow up song “Partition.” With Twerk Remix and the extensive air play this will surely blow up soon.

2 Dark Horse – Katy Perry feat. Juicy J

AC (Atlantic City) のクラブ「プロビデンス」のウェイトレスのお姉さんたちの間で絶大な人気を誇るのがこの曲。ここはバーテンも白人ばかりですが、ケィティーちゃんが大好きみたいです。パーティーのピークではあまりかかっていませんが、スローなのにノリがよくてマル。

Waitresses at Providence Club in AC love this song. All white bartenders there seem to be crazy about Katy too. This can’t be a mainstream party song but a nice Southern rap-techno mashup song moves at a tempo of 66 beats per minute.

3 Bang It To The Curb – FM Sidney Samson

新しいTwerkソングです。まだまだクラブではかかっていませんが、これから流行る曲。トゥワークはまだまだはやっていますが、かけるタイミングを間違えるとちっとも盛り上がらない………、DJは空気が読めないとできない職業だと痛感させられます。スキルというより、お客さんが何を求めているかを察知して盛り上げる努力をすることが必須。がんばります！

Far East Movement and Sidney Samson’s ”Bank It To The Curb” is the next big Twerk song. Twerk still dominates the club scene but it could be hit or miss. In order to become a dope DJ, you have to play what people want and keep watching the crowd. This is what I do for a living!! I got keep trying!

On Thursday, DJ Soul and a few friends were getting together at Santos Party House to celebrate the life of DJ Hiro. We’re also raising money to help cover the cost of his funeral. The event started at 8pm and lasted after 4am. I wanted to share the below message from Mike Saes. Well said.

I gotta say that I think that went better than expected. Not only cuz I never did an 8 hour dancathon before but really for the key word that Red Alert kept mentioning “VIBE”. It really brought back what NYC night life was all about, the merging of cultures, the dancing, the real music and not the hot new corny rap we get suffocated with in every club. Last night celebrated the DJ, not the hot bitches or the bottle poppers. It was a New York moment. For those that missed it… You got next year, for those that lived it…. We woke up feeling better than we have in a long long time. Though I spotted a few tears on Kaori’s face round 3:45, the night was all about love, love of music, love of old friends and love for our homie. He was in there holding us down.

Props to all that made this epic event happen and especially to Soul who curated the perfect mix of mixers. I’m honored to have been at the best place on earth from 8pm to 4am. Next year we might have to start earlier and have a kids section so all the mothers can come out. I heard it was hard for them to get babysitters on a Thurs.

すでに知っている方も多いかと思いますが、ニューヨーク・ヒップホップ・シーンを盛り上げてきてくれたDJヒロがなくなりました。彼も好きでよくかけていたというこの曲でお別れをつげたいと思います。木曜（12/19）サントス96 Lafayette St, NY 10013にて追悼チャリティー・パーティーを行います。私、DJジューンも回させていただきますのでみなさんご参加下さい。8時より、入場料10ドル（すべてご遺族の方に寄付いたします。）

As many of you may already know our brother DJ Hiro passed away on December 3. I wanted to dedicate this song I heard Hiro used to play at downtown Hip-Hop clubs back in the day. I’m also honored to be a part of DJ Hiro Special Tribute Party at Santos this Thursday. Admission is $10 and DJ Hiro memorial T-shirts will be sold at the venue. All proceed will go to his family. Please join me with many friends including DJ Kaori, Stretch Armstrong, Mark Ronson, DJ Clark Kent and many more.

かなりWu Tang サウンド、Method Manのファーストアルバム辺りを意識しためちゃかっこいいヒップホップ。現代と昔のヒップホップのコラボが凄く上手く出来上がった作品。こっちのラジオ Hot 97でもヘビーローテーションです。

Trillmatic reminds me of Wu-Tang sound, specifically Method Man’s first album “Tical.” This is the perfect example of great collaboration with old and new Hip Hop. This song is played on Hot 97 all day long!

3. Street Dreamin’ – Bridget Kelly f/ Kendrick Lamar

どのジャンルのヒップホップを聞く人からも物凄い人気のあるKendrick Lamar。少し前にでた曲ですが、よくリクエストがきます。オールドスクールぽいトラックにノリのいい女性ボーカル、2000年辺りによく定番だった、旬のラッパーをフューチャリングした、いい感じのR&Bという懐かしい気分にさせてくれる曲です。こんなR&Bをもっと作って欲しいです。

Kendrick Lamar is the man of the global Hip-Hop. Not a new song but “Street Dreamin’” is frequently requested by many club goers still now. I love this old school track featuring fresh new comer’s rap and female vocal that was almost a sure shot hit making formula back in 2000.

How you enjoying holiday season? For this week, I give you all time party classic joints. Let’s take a stroll down memory lane!

1 I Just Wanna Love You – Jay Z

ファレルのThe Neptunesがひっぱりダコだった時期のプロデュース作品。Jay Zを筆頭としたロカフェラも絶頂期。NYのヒップホップが1番きらびやかだった頃の代表作です。懐かしいです。こういうのもっと作って欲しいです……。今では当時の Jay Z といったヒップホップは日本で滅多にかからないとか…さみしいです。こちらではティーンの子供でもみんな知ってますよ。やはり良い曲は良い、年齢関係ないです!　今ではTwerkリミックスがパーティでよくかかります。

One of the Neptunes’s signature songs featuring a chorus sung by Pharrell Williams released as the first single from Jay-Z’s 2000 album “The Dynasty: Roc La Familia.” The popularity of NY hip hop was the highest back then. I still love songs in that era. I heard that hip hop songs by rappers like Jay Z are not being played these days in Japan. Over here in the States even young teenage kids know his hits. His music is timeless! “I Just Wanna Love You – Twerk Remix” is on the rise now.

2 Still Not A Player – Big Pan feat. Joe

1998年に出た、今は亡きBig Punの名曲。ノリの良いリズム、 Joeが歌うコーラス、特にニューヨーカーはBig Pun好きなので、これはパーティの定番です。そんなことを書いてたらHot97でいきなり”Still Not A Player”がかかった！ビックリ…….！

Big Pun’s classic song in 1998 featuring Joe’s smooth vocals still dominates New York party scene. While I’m writing this chart listening to Hot 97 starts playing this song on the radio! See, what I mean, classic!!

3 Killing Me Softly – Lauryn Hill

1996年、フージーズのローリン・ヒルがカバーした曲で、これをかけると女子全員が大合唱します。音を消してしばらく大合唱の部分を作るくらいです。そんな喜んでくれて….DJやっててよかった(泣)な場面を作ってくれる一曲のひとつです。そんなローリンさん、サンクスギビングの前夜にNYでコンサートのはずだったのですが当日キャンセル、最近全然活動ないようなのが少し残念です。

The song Fugees covered on their 1996 album The Score, with Lauryn Hill singing the lead vocals is really popular still today among ladies. I usually shut off the turntable and let the audience sings the chorus. Every time I play this song people react so much that makes me a happy DJ. I was looking forward to Lauryn’s Concert scheduled on a day before Thanksgiving but unfortunately cancelled. I miss her!
