P-Funk is baaaaack!!!! After a long time without making new music of their own, George Clinton andf Paliament / Funkadelic has dropped a new album “First You Gotta Shake the Gate”, three-disc set last year.
Rihanna Performs at March Madness Festival! In Japan, March Madness and less known in less known compared to NBA. But if you belong to Japanese hip hop generation, there are many things to celebrate. Our favorite Rihanna headlined Day 2 of the March Madness Music Festival at White River State Park in Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday night (April 4) and there she performed live the full version of her new song “American Oxygen” which will appear on the R8 album. It was televised between the two semi-final games.
Speaking of the games “undefeated” Kentucky was finally beaten by Wisconsin and the bracket was completely busted. Championship game will be held on Monday at 9pm between Wisconsin and Duke. NCAA Official Site
Fab and French teamed up for “Ball Drop” featuring a familiar horn sampling. Fab has been in the game for the longest but he looks exactly the same since the first time he came to the scene. According to his bio he is 38, really? Maybe he’s lying his age, I don’t know but he definitely belongs to Pharrell’s never-age-club. Same thing with Jay-Z, he’s forever young. If you look too old you better not expect any offers to collaborate with young rappers. “Ball Drop” is the party anthem at clubs exclusively playing Hip-Hop.
A trap song with a hip hop beat and a reggae flavor from Rihanna’s new album will surely be embraced by black girls. The best way to make a group of bored ladies on the floor is to play songs by Rihanna, Beyonce and Ciara back to back. You can make them smile.
Trey Songz’ classic slow jam reminisces smooth ballads of 90’s R&B singer Genuwine. Nice and sexy. It’s like the situation is reversed mostly guys who request for this song, not ladies…….why? Because he is Trey Songz!

1 These Walls – Kendrick Lamar f/ Bilal, Anna Wise & Thundercat
発売ホヤホヤのKendrick Lamarのアルバム To Pimp a Butterfly から。
The first one I picked is this song from Kendrick Lamar’s brandnew album “To Pimp a Butterfly”. It is a ‘90s neo-soul throwback and may not satisfy hardcore Hennessy loving Hip Hop heads at clubs but I bet they enjoy listening to the album in the car. My first impression on Kendrick back then was that he sounded so much like Outkast on some tracks. We love Outkast, don’t we? Featuring vocals by neo-soul King, Bilal and acoustic guitar, synthesizer and other instruments “These Walls” brings back old soul music
