P-Funk is baaaaack!!!! After a long time without making new music of their own, George Clinton andf Paliament / Funkadelic has dropped a new album “First You Gotta Shake the Gate”, three-disc set last year.
“It’s been 33 years since a legitimate Funkadelic record, The Electric Spanking of the War Babies, has been out. A lot of it is from the band, but I also have everybody from my kids and grandkids to Sly Stone, Kim Burrell and El DeBarge on there. It’s a package!!!” said Clinton.
Along with the new music, George Clinton and P-Funk is currently on a massive worldwide tour promoting their new album. Below are all the current dates, though they’re still looking to add more!
Not just a new album, George mutha funkin’ Clinton put out his new book entitled “Brothas Be, Yo Like George, Ain’t That Funkin’ Kinda Hard on You?: A Memoir.”
Here’s what Nelson George wrote about the book:
“People will come to this book looking for druggy tales and eccentric stories, and they will not be disappointed. However, they will also encounter a highly intelligent, visionary man who happens to have an encyclopedic knowledge of pop music, from doo-wop to hip-hop. P-Funk worked because George Clinton knew how to weave all the threads together.”
