1. 100 – Travis Barker feat. Kid Ink, Tyga, Ty Dolla Sign & ImaSu

Travis Barker といえばロックバンドBlink-182 のドラマーだった人。DJ AMが亡くなる前にコラボでツアーしてた全身にタトゥー入ってる白人のドラマーさん。何やら 2枚目のアルバムが出るそうです。シングル第一弾は今をときめくそうそうたるメンバーを揃えて、Ty Dolla Signがフックを歌う、DJ Mustard的なビートのノリのいいヒップホップです。このメンバーでうけないわけないですね！

Travis Barker is the tattooed out white drummer for the American rock band Blink-182, a frequent collaborator with the late DJ AM. He has recruited a whole host of guest artists for his first single “100” from his second solo album. How can he go wrong with Kid Ink, Tyga, ImaSu and Ty Dolla Sign singing the hook?

2. Downtown – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Eric Nally, Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee, Grandmaster Caz

最近全然Macklemore見ないなぁ、何してるのかなぁ、どうやら海外とかにツアー行ってるみたいだな、とか思ってた矢先。めちゃくちゃオールドスクールな曲と共に返り咲き。オールドスクールの大御所ラッパーさん達を迎えてビデオも凄くオシャレ！なんとなく Uptown Funk – Mark Ronson& Bruno Marsを意識したんか Downtownって(笑) ボーカルのEric Nallyって人、このビデオ(曲)のなかでは QueenのFreddie Mercury 的な存在なんだけど彼のボーカルがとってもいいと思います！彼は Foxy Shazamって言うバンドのボーカリストみたいです。注目されてるみたいです。

I was just wondering what’s going on with Mcklemore as I haven’t heard about him lately and now he’s dropping new song along with old school rap figures Kool Moe Dee, Melle Mel, and Grandmaster Caz. This song reminds me of Mark Ronson and the funky horns “Uptown” and his version is called “Downtown”…………….

3. What Do U Mean – Justin Bieber

ジャスティンビーバーかいな…….。とお思いでしょうが、彼の曲はクオリティが高いと思うし正直好きです。個人的に顔も好みな方です(笑)最後にでたシングル Where Are U Nowもヒットしました。今でもクラブでかかってます。今回はちょっと大人し目のアップテンポのダンスチューンですが、きっと EDMリミックスとかがクラブでは流れそうですね。
You might think “Justin Bieber…….?” but I kind of like him. His music is really good, I think. He was also the featured vocalist on Diplo and Skirillex’s big hit “Where Are You Now”. This new up-tempo dance song may be a chart-topper.

Hotline Bling – Drake

D.R.A.Mの Cha Chaのトラックをちょっとお借りして歌ってるけど、なんかこれ凄く好きな一曲です。多分昔の彼女の事について歌ってるみたいだけど、少し哀愁漂ってるけどそこまでヘビーじゃない。ちょうど秋になりかけの夏、今の季節ピッタリの曲。私は個人的にDrakeさん、歌ってる時の方が好きです。

For some reason I love this “Hotline Bling” borrowed D.R.A.M’s track “Cha Cha.” It sounds nostalgic that he is talking about his ex girl but not so heavy almost perfectly fits for the end of summer……..I love Mr. Drake singing like a crooner.

Twist My Fingaz – YG

今 NWAの映画が話題沸騰中で West Coast が熱いですね。どう聴いてもDreの The Chronic や Snoop の Doggystyleらへん時代を意識したYGの新曲。最近 LAのラジオを聴いてたらよくこれかかってました。NYではまだあまりかかってないような気がします。Terrace Martinがプロデュース。Snoop,Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamarなどに曲を提供していて有名です。

YG’s first single off his second album, Still Krazy. Rather than his usual collaboration with DJ Mustard, this time he’s teamed up with Terrace Martin for a classic West Coast G-funk sound. The producer Terrace Martin is known for hits for Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar and many others.

DJ Mustard節トラック + Ty Dolla Signでいつもの感じですが、途中でTrapビートになりかっこいいです。パーティーのど真ん中用ではないかもですが、良いWarm Upソングとしてヘビーローテーション中。

Ty$ and Mustard deliver an anthem as usual with the cool trap drop. This may not the obvious party banger but I use this as a warm up song.

Ty Dolla $ign

1 Paranoid – Ty Dolla $ign feat. B.O.B.

パーティーのヒップホップ曲で今一番あついのがこれ。DJ Mustardプロデュース、twerkノリのサウンド。Paranoidを筆頭にマスタード作の曲をつなげてかけると盛り上がります。この次に人気なのはクリス・ブラウン＆キッド・インクの、”Show Me”かな。

This bouncy hit produced by DJ Mustard is the hottest hip-hop joint at the party for the moment. Starting off with “Paranoid and throwing a few more songs by Mustard would be the perfect set to move the crowd. My next choice would be “Show Me” by Chris Brown and Kid Inc.

2. Nana – Trey Songz

DJ Mustard、第二弾。がんばってますね。マスタードの新作はなんと、トレイ・ソングズがあのフージーズの懐かしの名曲、Fu-Gee-Laのコーラスをそのまま歌っています。ちょっとせつない感じのR&B、一度聞いただけで耳に残ります。ヒット間違いなし

The song number 2 is Trey Songz’ “Nana,” also produced by DJ Mustard is using Fu-Gee-La sample. Nice song.

3. Higher Ground – TNGHT

先週の日曜日はバスケットボールのオールスターゲームがありました。それでだったのか、最近この“Higher Ground”がクラブでよくかかっていたような……。AdidasコマーシャルでNBAプレーヤーが出てて、この曲がバックグラウンドでした。あまりクラブに行かないスポーツライターの友達も、久しぶりにパーティーに来てくれた際、この曲を聞いて「Higher Ground だ」と喜んでました。Kendrick Lamarもこの曲でフリースタイルしてて、かなりかっこいいです。

“Higher Ground” to me is like an unofficial anthem for Basketball Games. I saw NBA players on Adidas TV commercial and this song was played on the background. Kendrick Lamar is also featured on the track.
