なんとなくFinatticzの“Don’t Stop That Thun Thun” のに似た感じのサウンド。ちょっぴり哀愁がただようメロディ。ミュージック・ビデオもフッドぽくて楽しい。

Something urban and colorful video shot in West Oakland, CA. “Red Nose” sounds a bit like “Don’t Stop That Thun Thun” by Finatticz.

2 Paranoid – Ty Dolla $ign feat. B.O.B.

ノリがよくて踊れるヒップホップ。”I’m Different” – 2 Chainzあたりとからめてかけたりしてます。今は、ダンスやエレクトロばかりだし、ヒップホップというとトラップ（BPM プが60-70 プあたりの遅い曲）になってしまうし………。クラブでがっつり踊れるヒップホップ、もって頑張ってほしいです。

I love this rockin’ hip-hop song. I enjoy playing “Paranoid” and “I’m Different” by 2 Chainz back to back. Current club scene is dominated by dance/electoro music and hip-hop means trap with BPM around 60-70, real slow. I love to hear more hip-hop song like this one.

3 Sh#t – Future

かなり遅いテンポでFutureが何やら言ってます（笑）。かなりコアなヒップホップ好きの黒人お兄さんたちからリクエストがきます。けっして踊れる曲ではありませんが、リック・ロス、フューチャー系好きには大ウケの一曲。

Future says something over real slow beats. Somebody tell me what he’s saying (l.o.l.) This song is always requested by hardcore hip-hop loving black guys. It’s not for dancing but if you are Rick Ross/Future fans you would love this sh#t!

日本にお住まいのみなさんに嬉しいニュース!

「ママ・アイ・ウォント・トゥー・シング」の日本公演が決定、12月4日、東京の「東急シアター・オーブ」にて初演をむかえることになりました。

クリエィターのヴァイ・ヒギンセンの姉、ポップR＆Bシンガーのドリス・トロイの成功物語としてハーレムの人たちに親しまれてきた「 Mama, I Want To Sing”」、私たち「ハーレム2ニッポン」で積極的に紹介してきた甲斐があってか、ニューヨークの日本人コミュニティの間でも広く知られるようになりました。30周年記念公演として日本行きが実現したことはとても喜ばしく思います。この機会にぜひ、ハーレム・ゴスペルを体験してみて下さい。チケットは3000円から、お手頃なハーレム価格でご観覧いただけます。

The longest running black off-Broadway musical in American history

Mama, I Want to Sing illustrates the story of many great performers who learned their craft in the church choir. Doris in Mama, I Want to Sing (fashioned after Creator Vy Higginsen‘s own sister Doris Troy) stepped out the church choir, performed during Amateur Night at the Apollo, migrated to London where she performed and provided a gospel and soul underpinning for groups such as the Beatles.

25 years after its first Japanese tour in 1988, Mama, I Want to Sing returns to perform in Tokyo and Osaka in Japan. The show will open on December 4^th at Tokyu Theater Orb. Ticket price starts 3,000 Yen (cheaper than $35 at Harlem’s Dempsey Theater.)

1 The Monster – Eminem feat. Rihanna

3年前の2人のLove The Way You Lieを思い出させます。一回聞いただけで耳に残るRihannaのキャッチーなコーラスが決め手。ヒットまちがいなしだなぁ、これは。

It almost sounds like a sequel to their collaboration “Love The Way You Lie”, Rihanna’s catchy chorus is sure a ‘monster hook.’ This will be a huge hit, no doubt!

2 Roar – Katy Perry

とにかくビデオが可愛らしい..Katyちゃんが女ターザンになってます。ポップなので軽視されがち？だけど、でもとてもいい曲だと思います。特に白人の女の子からリクエスト多し。

私がいつもDJしているアトランティック・シティーのクラブにずっと前遊びに来たことがあるんですが、その時はまだ売れ始める前だったのでそこまで気にもとめず…。その時は普通のパッとしない女の子という印象したね…..。今になってあの時写真一緒に撮っておけばよかった、と後悔してます（笑）。

I love Katy’s “Roar” video. She is so cute dressed as female Tarzan. Even though she is a pop icon I still think this is a great song. Mostly requested by white girls.

Katy actually came to the party in Atlantic City I was DJ’ing before she became famous. I didn’t pay much attention to her as she looked so plain. I should have taken a picture with her if I knew……..

3 Candy Rain – Soul For Real

1995年にヒットしたR&Bの名曲。4人の兄弟から成るグループ。私も大好きな曲でパーティでは毎回かけます。ちょっと年齢が高めのパーティーでは間違いなしど真ん中ストライク、それもHeavy Dをフィーチャーしたリミックス・バージョンでキメます。またこんなグループが出てきて、素敵なR&B作って欲しいものです。（Jackson 5やNew Editionみたいに、大きくならなかったのが残念。)

“Candy Rain” is a smash R&B hit back in 1995 by Soul For Real, a group made up of 4 brothers. I play remix version featuring Heavy D (the song is actually produced by him) for mature crowd and never failed to set the party. Unfortunately, Soul For Real never attained the level of fame as Jackson 5 and New Edition.
