Empire is a musical drama television series that started airing on the Fox channel. This hip hop family drama series tells a story of a music empire. Empire was created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong. Season 1 of Empire premiered on the Fox channel on January 7, 2015.

The new drama series stars Terrence Howard (Iron Man, Hustle & Flow) and Taraji P. Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Person of Interest). Other cast members of Empire include Bryshere Gray, Jussie Smollett, Trai Byers, Kaitlin Doubleday and Grace Gealey. Courtney Love and Macy Gray were added to the cast as well, and Naomi Campbell was announced in a recurring role.

The show was an instant hit and took America by storm.
Though Empire is not a part of Bad Boy Records owner, Sean “Diddy” Comb’s “dynasty,” it seems that he has an issue with that. Specifically, Diddy thinks that Empire creator Lee Daniels ripped the show’s idea from his life.“It’s basically my life except the ALS stuff. All the homosexuality and everything that’s pretty much been done too. They might as well have called it ‘Breaking Bad Boy’…….

“…They basically are detailing everything I had to go through: the shootouts, working with Timbaland, and divas going to prison. I mean, all of it. I think they might owe me some royalties. You can’t just put out the ‘Sean Combs Biography’ without paying me and I’m filing a million dollar lawsuit.”

The show returns to Fox Sept. 23

It looks like we will see less of Lucious Lyon, as according to rumors putting him in jail in the upcoming season was always the plan. You can also expect to see a myriad of guest stars in season 2, which might as well distract you from missing Lucious.

Comedian Chris Rock will appear in a prison yard scene with incarcerated record label owner Lucious Lyon and R&B superstar Alicia Keys and rock legend Lenny Kravitz have all signed on for guest-starring roles during Season 2.

Despite being in a 5-year relationship with a man, director Lee Daniels persistently invades the personal space of heterosexual men whom he casts in his shows and films. Insiders say Daniels constantly pushes up on heterosexual men who have started to complain bitterly about his aggressive sexual behavior.

A few bold name heterosexual actors have turned down roles in ‘Empire’ because they fear being molested by the open gay director. Daniels has big plans to cast ‘Empire with mostly gay and bisexual actors and artists. Daniels has tapped gay and bisexual stars Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Oprah Winfrey to star in season 2. But one singer who refuses to sign on is Trey Songz. Trey and another popular male singer declined offers to star in ‘Empire’ because of rumors that Daniels is too sexually aggressive and can’t keep his hands and his lips off of heterosexual men. As a result, Daniels has quietly begun blacklisting certain actors and singers. Sean Combs also nixed a role offered to his son, Quincy Brown, for the same reasons.
