Mirei みれい S.O.B.’s でライヴ

大阪出身の13歳の新人、みれいちゃんが4月12日の木曜日、「S.O.B.’s」にてパフォーマンスをしました。この日はフィラデルフィア出身のラップ・デュオ、OCDがメイン・イヴェントだったせいか、オーディエンスはティーンのヒップホップ・ファンばかり。歌って踊って、若さはじけるみれいちゃんのステージに歓声があがります。ロバータ・フラックのオリジナルよりローリン・ヒルのカヴァーのほうが浸透しているらしく、みれいちゃんの歌う「Killing Me Softly」では”one time, one time” “two times, two times” と観客から合いの手がはいります。オリジナル曲、”Leaving With Scars” も含め4曲ともすべて英語で堂々と歌ってくれました。

ひと昔まえの日本のアーティスト（ピンク・レディ…….その他）と比べるとスキルもだいぶレベル・アップしていてびっくり。同胞としては応援したいところですが…….。なにせ、アメリカにはレイチェル・クロウみたいな天才的に歌のうまい子たちがたくさんいるのですから勝ち抜くためにはよほどの覚悟をしてもらわないと…….。

13Year Old Nipponese Recording Artist, Mirei Purformed at S.O.B.’s

Back by popular demand, 13-year-old Nipponese recording artist, Mirei (pronounced Me-Ray) returned to the Big Apple after raising the roof at the Sugar Bar.

Ashford and Simpson’s popular upper West side restaurant/cabaret and Ron Grant’s legendary Sunday night talent show at the village Underground earlier this year, she brought the house down at both venues leaving the crowds begging for more.

She was spotted by a producer from Amateur Night At the Apollo and as a result, is scheduled to appear at the world famous venue on April 11^th.  Also scheduled is an “Invitation Only” showcase at Montana Studio on April 10^th as well as a performance at SOB’s, opening for the Philly based rap duo OCD on April 12^th.

 

She performed all 4 songs in English including her original song, “Leaving With Scars.”
