Little Bamboo, New York style Sushi restaurant with a Caribbean twist opened in the heart of Harlem last year. The owner, Jimmy and Jodi are originally from New York and Little Bamboo is an offshoot of the team’s two St. Maarten-based restaurants: Bamboo.
The restaurant features a Caribbean-infused, globally influenced contemporary menu inspired by the multi-cultural environment. In another word, this is not an authentic Sushi place such as neighboring “Inoue” and “Yuzu” both famous for its master Sushi chefs.
Their menu is filled with not so traditional Sushi, Sashimi as well as with Hawaiian Poke and creative Sushi Rolls with Caribbean tastes.
I ordered Maki Combo (tuna roll, salmon roll and California roll) for $16.00 just stick to the basics as I realized this is not a real sushi place. It was ok. Their signature seared Edamame is truly a unique experience not that I expected the different taste but the price of $6.00 for almost the entire bag of frozen Edamame pack! Great value!
Nice ambiance and decoration with the oriental Shoji screens in the windows, Little Bamboo is a fun little place in Harlem.
